A Small trip to traverse the past

Ambarnath Temple:-
Ambarnath Temple or The temple of Ambreshwar is situated 2 km away from Ambernath railway station (east). The lore says it was built by mythological characters ``Pandavas`` of our epic Mahabharat, nonetheless, unpretentiously archaeological facts do not support it. :) Chhittarajadeva of Shilahara dynasty started to built it and his successor Mummuniraja completed it in 1060 AD.
The sculptures of  pantheon, mythical and non-mythical lives ornate every inch of the monolithic structure. The temple is built on black stone and lime in Humudpanthi style. Humudpanthi style is subset of  Vesara style which is combination of Nagara and Dravidian architectural forms.

Its eclat sculptures get it compared with Dilwara temple of ``Mount Abu``.
Now come with me let`s have a tour through the plethora of bas-relief.
Here, where thousand year old ladies can make your heart race fast!

Some more effigies ....

Talk about elegance, men are not far behind than women here. :)

The security debarred me to take photos of the sanctum sanatorium which is located few steps underground within the temple.
